All-SPSL NORTH BASEBALL

May 20th, 2010 at Thu, 20th, 2010 at 7:27 pm by Erick Walker

The SPSL North announced its All-League team (below) earlier today. To no surprise, Kentwood’s Austin Voth brought home the MVP, and deservedly so. Tahoma’s Casper also was a valid candidate, especially after establishing a new school record for home runs, which is a huge accomplishment considering all the talent the Bears have churned out through the years.

One thing I never did understand when it came to  these teams, however, is the number of players who are either first-team, second-team or third-team. There are four pitchers alone on the first team, five more on the second team and five others who earned honorable mentions. And that list doesn’t include Voth, who won the MVP. What happened to the day when there was one first-teamer, one second-teamer and one honorable-mentioned selection?
